Do you have that piece of furniture that doesn't quite fit with your taste or decor now, but you can't bear to get rid of?...
Or maybe you are on the look out for a certain piece for your home, but can't seem to find the perfect size or solution, or maybe it does exist, but the price in the current market is too ridiculously expensive to justify the purchase?
If either of the above applies, maybe you could make some changes to a piece of furniture you already have to make it work for you? Or look for something second hand for the same purpose?
I purchased this unit second hand for £20. Intended for a specific purpose, I knew when I bought it I would be making some changes to it to make it work in the space it is destined for.
Just by squaring off the rounded, detailed edges, reducing the size of the overhang and replacing the traditional turned legs with some art deco style pin legs which I purchased @ikeauk, it has been completely transformed into a less bulky, more contemporary piece, now fitting the bill perfectly for what I need it for!
Finished in @frenchicpaint 's 'blackjack' (purchased from my local supplier, @renascidesigns)', and with its new, much daintier brushed brass handles, I think it's safe to say this unit has been brought up to date and is looking rather chic!
Still got a little more glamming up to do! Will be sure to share the result once finished!
